Public Patrons
The Rutgers Law Library welcomes alumni,
members of the Bar, and the general public.
Visitors are invited to explore our extensive print
collection, and use our public computer terminals,
providing free access to the Westlaw Campus
database and other electronic resources.
As members of the Newark and Camden communities,
we are here to serve New Jerseyans seeking legal knowledge.
The Law Libraries have a broad spectrum of print and digital information resources to support your research and practice. We are eager to help alumni, practicing attorneys, and members of the public with legal research questions. Please review our public services page for details on how we support the New Jersey legal community. Patrons seeking attorney referrals and pro bono contacts may click here for Camden and Newark resources. Information about Library operating and reference hours can be found here.
Admission to the building requires a photo ID. Only Rutgers University ID holders and Attorney Card users may check out circulating materials from the Library. At the Camden Branch, all non-Rutgers patrons must sign in at the entrance to the law school building. Identification is not required to access the U.S. Government Document Depository materials. A Rutgers University ID or an Attorney's Card (obtainable at the Circulation Desk for a fee) is required to use Reserve Materials at the Camden Branch. At the Newark Branch, a Rutgers University ID, an Attorney's Card (obtainable at the Circulation Desk for a fee), or a valid government-issued ID is required to use Reserve Materials.
